MIDDLE EAST TRAVEL UPDATE
Please add the age textbox through spinner plus sign to enter traveller age.
Important Notice
We can offer travel insurance for you if you've left home and already travelling but only on the strict understanding that nothing has already happened which has led to a claim or may lead to a potential claim.
This means, for example, that if you have already lost an item of baggage, have already seen a medical professional or are feeling ill or have been injured and about to see a medical professional, then this policy will not pay for any part of any claim, and any claim attempted in such situations may be treated as fraud, which is a criminal offence.
To prevent fraudulent claims, cover will not commence until 48 hours after the policy has been purchased, and any illness or injury occurring in this waiting period will be considered a pre-existing condition and will not be covered. However, should you suffer a serious injury in an accident in this 48-hour period, which is verifiable by an Independent Witness, then you will be covered from the date cover commenced.
Note there is no 14-day cooling off period when already travelling overseas so no refund of premium will be made in the event you cancel the policy.

Frequently Asked Questions
My flight was cancelled because it goes through Dubai or Qatar. Am I covered?
No. Contact your airline for refunds or alternative flights.
We can still:
• Change your travel dates for free
• Extend your policy for up to 31 days if you are delayed abroad
Will my policy extend automatically if I cannot get home?
Yes. Cover will extend for up to 31 days at no extra cost.
Are hotel or meal costs covered?
No.
Are replacement flights covered?
No. Your airline must arrange refunds or new flights.
We strongly recommend not accepting a refund unless you are sure, as replacement flights may cost much more and insurance will not cover this.
Is loss of income covered?
No.
Can I travel to another airport in the same region?
Yes, if it is within the region shown on your policy schedule. Travel outside your insured region is not covered unless agreed in advance.
If FCDO advice changed after I bought my policy, can I claim?
No. Claims linked to this event are not covered.
If my airline cancels my flight, do I claim from you?
No. Contact your airline directly.
If I cancel because I feel unsafe, am I covered?
No. Choosing not to travel is not covered.
If my tour operator cancels, can I get a refund of my policy?
Yes. We will refund your premium in full.
Can I change my destination?
Possibly. Contact us before you travel. An extra premium may apply.
If my flight is diverted through another country, am I covered?
Yes. You are automatically covered for transit through another country, including the USA, for up to 48 hours. Contact us if it will be longer than 48 hours.
I want to buy insurance now for an affected area. Will I be covered?
Partially. The conflict became a known event on 28 February 2026, so policies purchased after this date will not provide cover for claims directly related to the conflict.
However, if you are travelling to a Middle Eastern country where the FCDO advises against “all but essential travel”, your policy may still provide cover for unrelated events such as illness, injury, baggage issues, or cancellation, provided the claim is not connected to the conflict.
What if the FCDO advises against all travel to my destination?
If the FCDO advises against all travel:
• Claims linked to the reason for the advice are not covered.
• If you bought your policy before 28 February 2026 and still travel, your cover may continue but with restrictions.
• Emergency help services may also be limited.
If you decide not to travel, cancellation is not covered unless you have a Traveller Plus policy.
If you have a Single Trip policy, we may be able to move your travel dates. Contact us to discuss your options.
